Hyper Mega Tech, the Evercade company behind the superb Super Pocket handheld devices, is back with more intriguing retro hardware releases in time for Christmas.
Hyper Mega Tech's new Super Micro Keychains are tiny gaming devices that come with one or more iconic retro games.
These micro-sized playable keychains come in four different retro gaming varieties, and cost just £20 each.
There's a Space Invaders version containing the classic arcade game, as well as a Centipede Keychain, an Asteroids edition and a Burgertime version.
Additional games are also available on the Centipede, Asteroids and Burgertime versions.
The Centipede version also comes with Millipede and Crystal Castles, while the Asteroids edition comes with Gravitar and Yars Revenge. Burgertime, meanwhile, features Karate Champ and Side Pocket.
In addition to multiple games, the miniature devices come with 2-inch RGB TFT screens with a resolution of 240x320.
The keychains are powered by three AAA batteries, although these will need to be purchased separately.
Games are controlled using the d-pad and A+B buttons. There are also start and select buttons, as well as volume controls on the side.
While these certainly aren't the optimal way to experience many of these classic games, the fact that you can attach them to your belt or keys makes them a fun way to play some iconic releases.
The £20 price tag is pretty reasonable and a big part of why I can imagine these selling well for Christmas. They're perfect stocking fillers.
Fans can pre-order the devices now from the Funstock website ahead of the October 30 release date. It's likely more retailers will stock them closer to launch.
The release of new hardware and software means it's a busy few months ahead for the company behind Evercade.
In addition to the Super Micro Keychains, fans can expect a new entry in the Evercade Alpha Bartop range.
The Taito Bartop comes with ten games built into the device, including Spacer Invaders, Bubble Bobble and Rastan.
In terms of new Evercade cartridges, the company is getting ready to release a Rare cartridge, as well as Taito and NeoGeo versions.
