Gamers looking to upgrade their console or looking to jump on some of the hottest releases like Ghost of Yotei and Borderlands 4, there's a new deal on our radar. As Argos slashes the price.
Argos has reduced the price of the newest PS5 slim consoles by up to £100 for the digital and disc versions. We highly recommend investing in the disc version, which currently costs £424.99-down from the usual £479.99.
That's because gamers will have the flexibility of buying physical games without needing to buy a disc drive - an additional option that can cost an extra £100.
Argos is also selling the digital console for a much cheaper £329.99 - a huge £100 off the console. The good news is that the digital console does allow gamers to add an additional disc drive in the future if they don't want to swallow the cost of the disc-based console.
Argos also offers 24 months of PlayStation Premium included with the disc-based slim console for £619.99 - a saving of £60. PS5 consoles are known for their high price tag, and spotting a discount can be rare.
For other gamers, it's also proving a popular time for rival deals. Nintendo fans can get the Switch 2 with the newest Pokémon Legends: Z-A for £429.99 on Very. There's also Amazon, which is selling the Nintendo Switch 2 on its own for only £395.99.
For those wondering if the PS5 is worth the investment, we reviewed the console. Our gaming editor, Liam Martin, said: "Whether you're playing the latest PlayStation exclusive, third-party bestseller, or indie hit ...gaming on the PS5 is an absolute joy.
"Everything is buttery-smooth, the controller is responsive and immersive, and the dashboard is functional and stable. Rounding out the experience is support for streamers like Netflix, Disney Plus, Prime Video, as well as Blu-Ray playback with the optical drive and a sleek new remote control for those who will rely on this ninth-generation console for their next binge-watch."
However, one thing to note is that the PS5 is showing its age. The PS5 Pro might be a worthy upgrade for those who want the most power from the console - but at a price of £645 on EE, it's an expensive buy.
