PlayStation Plus subscribers are just a few days away from finding out what's coming to the PS Plus Essentials line-up in September.
Sony will announce the next batch of PlayStation Plus Essentials on the afternoon of August 27. The PS4 and PS5 games will be available to download and play from September 2.
In the run up to Sony's big announcement, fans have been attempting to predict which games will be added to the line-up in September. Following the recent Gamescom announcement that a Lords of the Fallen sequel is in the works, fans firmly believe the 2023 reboot will join PS Plus Essentials on September 2.
The 2023 Lords of the Fallen game featured parallel worlds that could be switched between to overcome certain obstacles and fight different enemies.
The game received 'Mostly Positive' reviews on Steam and would sell over a million copies within two weeks of launch.
It's a million times better than the 2014 game of the same name, which despite a dark art style didn't quite cut it in the gameplay department.
The sequel to the most recent Lords of the Fallen was announced at Gamescom and will launch in 2026. Adding the 2023 release to PS Plus would certainly help build the hype, so don't be surprised if this shows up in multiple prediction lists in the coming months.
Resident Evil 4, Resident Evil 7 and Resident Evil Village also appear multiple times in the predictions thread, which is unsurprising given a sequel is launching next year.
Other games with lots of predictions include Nier and Nier Automata, Final Fantasy 16, Remnant 2, Pacific Drive, Ultros, Hot Wheels Monster Trucks: Stunt Mayhem, MLB The Show 25, Lollipop Chainsaw RePOP, Atomic Heart, Test Drive Unlimited and Nickelodeon All-star Brawl 2.
That's on top of Hades, Killer Klowns from Outer Space, Still Wakes the Deep, Warhammer 40K Space Marine 2, EA FC 25, Strange Horticulture, 112 Operator and Sonic Superstars.
Ubisoft releases like Far Cry 6, Assassin's Creed Mirage, The Crew Motorfest and Star Wars Outlaws also appear multiple times.
In terms of first-party games, there are picks for Lego Horizon Adventures, Stellar Blade and of course, The Order 1886.
Sony will need to pull out all the stops to top last month's games, which included Lies of P, Day Z and My Hero One's Justice 2.
