Immigration is, without question, the most pressing issue facing the United Kingdom today. It lies at the root of almost every challenge confronting our country - from the collapse of public services to the housing crisis, from stagnant wages to the loss of social cohesion and the destruction of our national culture. Yet, for all its significance, not a single political party has articulated a clear, integrated policy to deal with it. No roadmap, no strategy - just empty slogans and reactive soundbites.
Advance UK is different. We recognise mass legal and illegal immigration for what it truly is: not just a policy issue, but a threat to national survival. This is a constitutional crisis as much as a cultural one. We are not merely dealing with numbers - we are dealing with the very fabric of our society, with who we are as a people.
Over the last three decades - and especially in the past five years - we have seen mass legal migration reshape our country. Meanwhile, illegal migration undermines the our sovereignty altogether. We no longer control who enters or stays in our country. And when a nation loses control of its borders, it ceases to exist.
If Advance UK were in government, our approach would be decisive and unapologetic. Our first act would be to suspend the granting of Indefinite Leave to Remain and British citizenship.
We must stop the damage before we can begin to repair it. This pause would buy the time desperately needed to regain control, assess the scale of the problem, and implement permanent solutions.
We would also repeal the Human Rights Act and withdraw from the European Convention on Human Rights, as well as the UN Refugee Convention. These international agreements have tied our hands and undermined our sovereignty.
We can no longer allow foreign courts or supranational bodies to dictate who we can or cannot deport. This is the United Kingdom - we decide who stays and who goes.
On illegal migration, the solution is as simple as it is necessary: we must stop the boats before they reach our shores. A dedicated force should patrol the boundary of our territorial waters and intercept dinghies before they cross. If we fail to enforce our borders, the flood will continue.
Every illegal migrant who reaches our shores is rewarded with accommodation and benefits. This sends a clear message to the next one: "Come, and you will be looked after."
That message must end. If migrants manage to enter the country illegally, they must be detained in secure facilities until they are deported. There should be no path to regularisation, no loopholes, no judicial activism standing in the way.
Most do not come as genuine refugees - they are coming from France. They are not fleeing war; they are seeking economic opportunity. We cannot afford to be the safety net for the rest of the world while our own citizens struggle to find housing, support, or dignity.
And for those countries that refuse to take back their deportees, our response must be firm. No more aid. No more favourable trade terms. If persuasion fails, pressure must follow. We cannot be held hostage by foreign governments refusing to take back their own.
When it comes to legal migration, the excuses are familiar and deeply flawed. We're told we need migrants because British people won't work. But this is backwards. British people aren't working because our economy is flooded with cheap foreign labour, enabled by punitive taxes on small businesses and a bloated welfare system that punishes work and rewards inactivity.
We must cut benefits that disincentivise work and reduce taxes on the working and middle classes and businesses to make employment attractive again. Only then will we see the return of the industrious, self-reliant British worker.
As for skilled migration, we must raise the bar substantially. Only those earning over £80,000 per year should even be considered. Employers must also prove they've exhausted all domestic options before recruiting abroad.
Furthermore, those granted work or study visas should come alone. No more family dependents arriving en masse, placing additional strain on our schools, health services, and housing.
And finally, for those already here on Indefinite Leave to Remain, we should introduce a voluntary return programme, like Sweden's. We should actively support the repatriation of those willing to return to their countries of origin. Being in the UK is a privilege, not a permanent right.
This is not about cruelty. It's about control. It's about preserving a nation that has given so much to so many for so long. If we do not act now - firmly, boldly, unapologetically - we will look back one day and wonder when it was that we stopped being the United Kingdom.
Advance UK won't let that happen. We will defend our borders, our workers, and our way of life - because no one else will.
