A hunt for a killer is underway after a young man was stabbed to death outside a Wetherspoons. Police responded to calls from the pub, on Chingford Mount Road, East London, at around 9pm on Sunday evening, July 6.
Horrified members of the public who witnessed the knife attack alerted police officers on patrol. Staff reportedly raced out of the pub with a defibrillator in a desperate attempt to save his life. He was pronounced dead at the scene and the suspect remains at large at the time of writing.

Hailing the pub staff as "heroes" one restaurant worker described the horrific scenes.
The witness, 28, told The Metro: "There was panic and distress. There were people from the pub with a defibrillator trying to save the man. There was a crowd forming of people from the pub I guess and then the police and ambulances showed up. The people from the pub were heroes. They did their best."
Tragically one witness said the 26-year-old's mother was only in the pub down the road when her son was knifed to death.
The witness alleged: "The mum was at another pub around the corner when the man's friends came in and told her. She was devastated and she and her friends ran to the scene."
A murder investigation has now been launched, while police have confirmed no arrests have been made.
A spokesperson for the Metropolitan Police said: "On Sunday, 6 July at 21:14hrs officers on patrol were notified by members of the public of a stabbing in Chingford Mount Road, E4.
"Officers attended the scene and found a 26-year-old man with a stab wound. London's Air Ambulance and the London Ambulance Service also attended.
"The officers gave first aid on arrival but despite the best efforts of all the emergency services, the man sadly died at the scene.
"The man's next-of-kin are aware and are being supported by specialist officers.
"No arrests have been made at this early stage and a crime scene and road closures will be in place for some time while officers investigate."
The force has deployed officers on reassurance patrols for any locals that have questions or concerns.
Chief Superintendent Dan Card, who leads policing in the local area, said: "We are deeply saddened by the events that took place last night and our thoughts remain with the man's family at this hugely difficult time.
"Detectives are working hard to establish the circumstances of what happened yesterday evening.
"We understand the impact this incident will have on the local community and officers are being deployed on reassurance patrols to help answer any questions or concerns."
