Ibiza's sun-soaked party reputation took a wild turn this weekend after chaos erupted by a hotel poolside, with a dramatic brawl caught on video, including one man being struck by a flying chair.
The footage, shared on Instagram on Sunday by @sanantonioibiza, captured an explosive altercation at the popular Marco Polo hotel in San Antonio. What began as a sunny day by the pool quickly spiralled into mayhem as a group of holidaymakers became embroiled in a full-blown fight, shocking onlookers and social media viewers alike.
The video shows a flurry of movement as several people grapple and slip across the wet poolside tiles.
Amid the confusion, a man wearing blue shorts hurls a chair toward others already in the pool.
A woman in a black bikini is seen stumbling into the melee and falling, while two others also trip over chairs in the fray.
A lifeguard attempts to intervene and block the thrown chair but fails, as the scene continues to unravel. Additional hotel staff are seen rushing over to try and regain control.
All of this unfolded beneath a wall sign ironically declaring: "Good Vibes Only."
Adding to the irony, Jess Glynne's hit song "Hold My Hand", best known as the catchy anthem for Jet2Holidays, can be heard playing clearly in the background.
The Instagram post was captioned with tongue-in-cheek humour: "Yeah, a chair flew... but so did the vibes. Only at Marco Polo #ibizaexperience #ibizaunfiltered"
Viewers flooded the comments, equal parts horrified and amused.
One wrote: "The message on the wall is the best thing" while another added: "The more you watch, the more you see."
Yet others expressed concern, asking, "Is anyone going to see how that poor woman is doing?" and even connecting the event to local tensions: "No wonder the Spanish people are striking."
The cause of the brawl remains unknown, and hotel staff have yet to issue an official statement.
The video, however, has racked up thousands of views and reignited conversations around tourism, behavior, and respect in one of Europe's most iconic holiday destinations.
