Ex-royal butler reveals when Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet could return to the UK

Former royal butler Grant Harrold has predicted when Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet might make a return to the UK. The young royals are currently being raised in Montecito, California, with Meghan previously revealing that Archie and Lilibet are enrolled at two different schools.

Archie, six, and Lilibet, four, have spent very little time in Britain - although Archie did spend the first few months of his life at Frogmore Cottage in Windsor after he was born in London. Princess Lilibet, however, was born in California and has only visited the UK once in 2022 for Queen Elizabeth II's Platinum Jubilee.

Grant Harrold, who worked for King Charles when he was still the Prince of Wales between 2004 and 2011, has suggested that the young royals could likely return to the UK during a gap year when they are teenagers.

Speaking to Study Dog, Mr Harrold said: "It's very likely [that they could attend a British school or university] and it's completely possible because if they have their younger education in America, I'm sure their father will be quite keen to have a bit of a British education in the future, but this depends on how the relationship is with the rest of the family when the time comes."

He then revealed that Archie and Lilibet could follow in their paternal grandfather's footsteps and travel abroad for a gap year.

Mr Harrold added: "Time will tell, but I'd like to think that they would get a bit of education here because royals normally do some gap year somewhere.

"The King famously went to Australia, so it is possible that coming to the UK could be part of that for Archie or Lilibet."

Meghan made a memorable podcast appearance on The Jamie Kern Lima Show in April.

Speaking about her role as a mother of two little ones, the Duchess admitted that she finds motherhood "incredibly overwhelming". Speaking to Jamie about mornings with Archie and Lilibet, Meghan said: "If I don't have meetings in the morning, then I try to do the school drop off - they're at two different schools - that's a big circuit."

Although not revealing why they attend different schools, it would likely be due to their ages.
