The BBC is in chaos today following the resignations of Director General Tim Davie and chief executive of BBC News Deborah Turness.
Their exits come after the broadcaster came under fire when an internal report accused it of bias and censorship after it apologised for doctoring footage of Donald Trump. One major concern of bias came from a recent Panorama documentary after it misled viewers by editing a speech by the US President.
It came after former standards advisor Michael Prescott also revealed "despair at inaction" by BBC executives over impartiality failures, including "effective censorship" of transgender coverage and alleged downplaying of Israeli suffering in the Hamas war.
Davie announced his exit on 6pm November 9th followed by a lengthy statement. BBC chair Samir Shah is expected to apologise in a written statement to the Culture, Media and Sport committee today.
