Cancer cases are increasing rapidly in the country. Along with this, the number of deaths due to cancer is also increasing. The report of ICMR (Indian Council of Medical Research) also confirms this.
Cancer cases are increasing rapidly in the country. Due to late detection of cancer and costly treatment, the number of deaths due to this disease is also increasing rapidly in the country. Many types of cancer are increasing rapidly in the country. ICMR has released a report on which cancers are increasing rapidly in the country.
There is no adequate arrangement for the treatment of cancer patients in the country. The most serious thing is that cancer treatment is very expensive and financially weak people cannot afford the treatment. The arrangement for cancer treatment in the country is very less even in government hospitals. There is a provision for cancer treatment in AIIMS but there is a huge load of patients there. Due to which the patient has to wait for a long time for treatment and this delay makes the patient's condition more serious.
What does ICMR report say on cancerAccording to the report of ICMR (Indian Council of Medical Research) , there were 13.9 lakh cancer patients in the country in 2020, and by 2025 this number can reach 15.615.7 lakh, that is, there is a possibility of an increase of about 12%. Two types of cancer are increasing rapidly in the country. Breast cancer in women and oral cancer in men are spreading rapidly. Apart from this, lung cancer, stomach cancer, cervical cancer, colorectal cancer, and skin cancer (melanoma and non-melanoma) are also increasing rapidly in India. There are many reasons behind the increase in cancer cases. These include wrong eating habits, impaired lifestyle, genetic reasons and environment is also a major risk factor. Pollution is also causing many types of cancer.
What are the reasons for the rapid growth of cancerDr Rohit Kapoor of the Oncology Department at Max Hospital explains that breast cancer is the most common cancer in women. Its cases are increasing due to reasons such as late marriage, delay in pregnancy, less breastfeeding, stress, changing lifestyle and obesity. Tobacco consumption, smoking, paan consumption and poor dental hygiene are the main reasons behind the increasing oral cancer in men. Apart from this, pollution, a diet harmful to health and changing lifestyle are the main reasons.
