Blood Group And Heat Sensitivity: Some people feel more heat than others. Is blood group the reason behind this? Is there a connection between blood group and heat? Here you can know from the experts.

It is normal to feel hot in summer. But some people cannot tolerate the heat at all. Without AC-cooler, they become drenched in sweat in a short time. If this happens to you too, then this question must have come to your mind that why do I feel so hot? Some people believe that this may be due to blood group.

Dr Narendra Singhal, Lead Consultant Internal Medicine, CK Birla Hospital, Delhi, told the Indian Express that no direct link has been proven between blood group and heat sensitivity so far. However, some research has shown that carbohydrate blood group antigens present on the cells of some blood groups can help protect against heat. Cells with H and A antigens in particular have been found to have greater heat tolerance.

Dr. Singhla explains that people with blood group O have higher levels of adrenalin, which can increase heart rate and body temperature during stress or physical activity. On the other hand, people with blood group AB and B may have slightly better heat tolerance due to better blood circulation and immune response, but there is no concrete evidence for these claims.

Blood type and heat tolerance: What's the truth?

There are many myths and beliefs about the effect of blood group on the ability to tolerate heat. But according to experts, at present there is no scientific evidence that proves that a particular blood group can tolerate more heat or feels more heat.

Blood group and other aspects of health

Blood group has no direct relation with feeling hot, but there are some health problems related to blood group. Dr. Singhla explains that people with blood group O have less risk of heart attack and blood clots. On the other hand, people with blood group A and AB have been found to have a slightly higher risk of some cancers like gastric and pancreatic cancer.

What to do to avoid the heat

Experts say that there is no need to worry about blood group to protect yourself from heat. Factors like body hydration, weight, metabolism, fitness and lifestyle have more impact. Therefore, no matter what your blood group is, always try to stay cool, drink enough water and avoid direct sunlight to avoid heat.
