Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has thanked Donald Trump for a "long and detailed" discussion about potential solutions to the ongoing Russia-Ukraine conflict.
"A long and very detailed conversation with President Trump," Zelensky shared on Twitter after a meeting of the Coalition of the Willing in Paris, which also included European leaders.
"First and foremost, we talked about how to push the situation toward real peace," he said. "We discussed different options, and the most important is pressure, using strong measures, particularly economic ones, to force an end to the war. The news comes asRussia threatens to 'march on Paris' as all-out WW3 fears erupt.
"Until peace comes, Ukrainians must not be at the mercy of constant Russian attacks," he concluded. "Russian missiles and drones must not take lives. Ukraine has proposed a format for protecting our skies for the U.S. to consider. I thank President Trump for supporting our people. We agreed on further contacts."

Zelensky fires back as Trump admits Russia war 'more difficult' than expected, reports the Express.
President Zelensky's fiery tweet surfaced after the high-stakes coalition meeting, which began around 8:00 a. m.

EST on Thursday. The Ukrainian leader's comments come as President Donald Trump, who has been tirelessly striving to negotiate a peace deal, made a surprising admission that perhaps the brutal conflict was "a little more difficult" to end than he initially thought.
In a frank interview with CBS, Trump said "Frankly, the Russia one, I thought, would have been on the easier side of the ones I've stopped," he admitted. "But it seems to be something that's a little bit more difficult than some of the others."
Since returning to the Oval Office in January, Trump has eagerly tried to portray himself as a global peacemaker and repeatedly bragged that he has ended several conflicts. Despite these bold claims, the president has yet to disclose exactly which wars he played a part in resolving.
Trump's contentious approach, as he describes it, involves gathering world leaders in one room and forcefully pushing them toward a breakthrough agreement. The president also acknowledged that the volatile situation between Moscow and Kyiv required additional patience from all parties involved.
Zelensky has consistently shown a strong resolve and readiness to meet with Putin directly, while simultaneously urging the U.S. to impose severe measures to force Russia back to the negotiation table. On Wednesday, Putin reportedly told journalists that he hasn't dismissed the idea of a dramatic meeting with Zelensky, adding that he would participate if it were conducted appropriately.
The Russian leader made these provocative comments during a tense press conference in Beijing on Wednesday, suggesting that if rational thinking prevailed, an "acceptable solution" could be reached to end the devastating conflict. Putin, whose military recently made a chilling nuclear move, ominously declared, "It seems to me that there is a certain light at the end of the tunnel. Let's see how the situation develops. If not, then we will have to achieve our goal by military means."
Zelensky had not publicly responded to Putin's inflammatory remarks. He did suggest earlier that the overnight strikes were "demonstrative" in nature.
"Putin is demonstrating his impunity. Only due to the lack of sufficient pressure, primarily on the war economy, does Russia continue this aggression," he defiantly wrote on Telegram.
