Emma Raducanu broke down in tears after her eye-catching comeback win against Ann Li in Eastbourne. Raducanu got off to a difficult start but eventually got over the line with a 6-7 6-3 6-1 success, before letting her emotions get the better of her.
Following her winning shot, the Brit dropped her racket and welled up in tears before wiping her face. And she then offered a handshake to Li.
“It feels incredible. I want to thank the crowd for getting me through some really sticky moments,” she said in her on-court interview.
““It really meant a lot to me, and I was so proud of how I kind of fought back after losing the first set. “I mean, Ann was, you know, hitting winners all over the place, and it was obviously very windy. But I’m just very, very happy to have come through that today, so thank you.
"It was tough, it was up and down, but from the middle of the second set I think I found another gear and a another level.”

Speaking about her relationship with Mark Petchey, she added: "It’s working really well, it was really nice to have a lot of support. It’s going really well with Mark and I’m just looking forward to playing tomorrow."
The 22-year-old will now take on Maya Joint for a place in the quarter-finals. Raducanu now has a busy few months ahead as she attempts to rediscover her best form.Wimbledon 2025 is set to get underway later this month, with the draw taking place on Friday 27 June. Raducanu reached the last-16 last year.
Following her Wimbledon commitments, Raducanu will then be back in action at the US Open and has already confirmed that she will be partnering up with current Wimbledon champion Carlos Alcaraz in the mixed doubles.

On her relationship with the Spaniard, she said: “I've known him for years and actually in Wimbledon 2021 it was like kind of the first time I started getting to know him, and I had a good run there and then also again in the US Open in 2021.
“And I remember he was always playing the day before me and I was playing like the second day of the round. And I would see him win and then I would have motivation to win and get myself into that position too.
“And I remember he beat Stef [Tsitsipas] in the third round and it was like a big win, his breakout kind of win on a big stage and it was really cool to kind of, I guess, go through that tournament together and then I kept going through the US Open, but we were staying in touch for the whole time and yeah, it's nice.”
