England women’s star Chloe Kelly left her husband "speechless" with her heroic performance in the Euro 2025 final, before responding with a heart-warming message. The Lionesses retained their Euros title after beating Spain in a gripping final in Basel, Switzerland, on Sunday.
Alessia Russo cancelled out Mariona Caldentey’s 25th-minute header in the second half, with the game finishing 1-1 after 90 minutes. Spain, who beat England in the 2023 Women’s World Cup final, were the better team in extra-time but couldn’t break down England’s defence, which took the game to a nail-biting penalty shootout.
Kelly, 27, had already delivered the cross to set up Russo’s equaliser. And despite Beth Mead’s miss initially giving Spain the advantage on penalties, the Arsenal forward showed nerves of steel to fire in the winning penalty for Sarina Wiegman’s side and complete a spectacular shootout comeback - three years on from her iconic winner in the Euro 2022 final.

Supporting her every kick during the blockbuster clash and the tournament as a whole was her husband, Scott Moore. While Scott’s Instagram account is private, Chloe reposted his proud tribute on her own story after the match.
He uploaded a photo of the couple together after the final where she posed with her arm around his shoulder, alongside the caption: “Speechless once again,” and two silver heart emojis. She wrote below Scott’s picture and words: “I’m so grateful to have you by my side.”
Chloe married Scott, a groundsman and greenkeeper, in 2024 after five years of dating. They met while she was playing for Everton and he was a groundsman at the club, according to Hello.
It was a small act of kindness from the star that caught Scott's attention, with Kelly sparking the connection after graciously holding a door open for him at the club. He is said to have later messaged her on Instagram and the pair arranged their very first date - a trip to IKEA.
They tied the knot at Merrydale Manor in Cheshire last summer. Scott had proposed to Chloe during their trip to Finland, under the Northern Lights, shortly before Christmas in 2023.
Chloe didn't hesitate to agree to marry her long-time partner, and when she posted on Instagram about the proposal, she captioned the image: "The easiest YES. Here’s to forever with you."
Scott now works as a greenkeeper for a golf club. Although he usually stays out of the spotlight, he always attends his wife's important fixtures, making sure to cheer her on, as he did during Sunday’s final.
Kelly explained during the build-up to the Euros showpiece that Moore was in Switzerland along with the rest of her relatives. "He's my best friend," she said. "So it's great to have the support of him, my dad and brother... and it's nice that we get to spend some time together.”
Their anniversary took place during the tournament this year but she admitted she had been so focused on taking the Euros trophy home again that their celebrations had taken a halt.
Kelly said: "I haven't even got a card, to be honest. I'm sure in the moment, I'll think of something and get my mum to sort it... I'm sure Scott has, but I definitely haven't."
