Addressing the nation from the iconic Red Fort in New Delhi, PM Modi’s attire carried deep symbolism, reflecting this year’s Independence Day theme- Naya Bharat (New India) and celebrating the nation’s journey of progress.

The standout feature of his look was the bright saffron turban, tied in his distinctive style with a long, flowing tail. The headgear, a staple of his Independence Day appearances, is not just a visual statement but a nod to India’s cultural diversity, as turbans hold significance across the country’s regions. This year’s choice of saffron- a colour representing courage, sacrifice, and strength- aligned perfectly with the patriotic fervour of the day.

Complementing the turban was a sleek coral-orange Nehru jacket worn over a crisp white kurta. The colour choice extended the saffron theme, tying into the upper band of the Indian tricolour. The jacket’s minimalist design allowed the focus to remain on its rich hue and its pairing with the other symbolic elements of the outfit.

Draped neatly over his shoulders was a tricolour stole, its saffron, white, and green stripes running vertically.
