Ahead of the Diwali festival, the Supreme Court on Thursday banned the sale of any crackers in Delhi-NCR, including green crackers. Meanwhile, SC permitted green crackers' manufacturers to continue their production.
The matter was heard by a bench headed by Chief Justice of India B R Gavai.
"We permit manufacturers who have the permit for green crackers by NEERI and PESO but same shall be subject to undertaking that by next date they should not sell any crackers in the Delhi NCR area," CJI said.
